With no dedicated server support and basically a console port, no thank you. I'm sure the single player is amazing but IW just fucked PC players in the ass.

I had high hopes, it looked awesome. No dedicated servers is a no-go for me.
I was just talking about yall yesterday actually with some random person from trade chat. Talking about FPS's and stuff and how I'd kill for another COD:UO or BF:V.
My rig's behind the times, again, rebuilding after Christmas. Have the $$$, need the time, for once.
Are any of you playing a GOOD fps these days at all? I'm still rocking CS:S (reverse gungame or office, only two servers for the most part) and WoW. If I had a sweet game sitting here that ran like ass I'd probably push myself to make time to figure out a new rig...hehe. _________________ Demo baka wa shinanakya naoranai.

As much ass as the No-dedicated server thing is, Modern Warfare 2 has been a lot of fun so far for me, Smash, and another guy we play WoW with. And I say that after spending at least the last year on 2 CoD4 servers, one a 48-man, the other a 50-man, and in spite of that I'm still really enjoying the 9v9 on the biggest game type in MW2.
In Battlefield news, I *think* 1943 is supposed to be out on PC shortly after the new year, and Bad Company 2, which DICE has explicitly said they're having a dedicated team(and dedicated servers) has been announced for
March 10 I do believe.

I just saw smashy last night on MW2, it was fun playing with him for a bit. It really is a fun game. I also heard that the game got hacked to run dedicated servers on, but I don't have much info on that as of yet... Maybe IW will break their stance on the dedicated servers thing pretty soon... By the way, My steam ID is -=CCC=- Zapp B if anyone wants to hit me up for a game or 2 _________________

Will Bad company 2 have multiplayer like BF2 or something else? I haven't really looked into it at all.
From what I can remember, I think the console version of BC2 is going to support up to 24 people, and they intended wanted to try and up that for the PC release. It's going to have the traditional Conquest, I think CTF, and the sort-of Assault Lines mode, where you have to blow up the crates(which were filled with gold in the first BC) with one team attacking and the other defending, and once crates are destroyed the attackers gain forward spawn points.
One of the gameplay elements that I'm looking forward to is the new squad system. The squads are now 4 members instead of 6, but they made it possible to spawn on any of the living members of the squad, and I don't think there's going to be an actual squad leader anymore. What that means for an Order system I really don't know, the only feature like that I've seen is the Enemy Spotting system. 1943 should be out in the beginning of 2010, which will be the first time DICE's Frostbite engine is used on a PC release, though 1943 uses the 1.5 version of Frostbite and BC2 is the 2.0.

I was very much against not having dedicated servers in MW2, but Carlos made me cave in and get it. It's actually not too bad, the customization is a step up from CoD4 definitely, and usually don't run into any connection issues. The game would be tits if it had dedicated servers and lean though.
My steam ID is Hacksaww, and Carlos should be Carlos56.
By the way, MATCS, Jetta, Cent, and myself like to hang out on vent, so hop on sometime if you are down for some MW2 or something. I'm also playing Left 4 Dead 2, which is a good time _________________ Swift, Silent, Invisible.

I miss having dedicated servers, but I'm having a blast with MW2. I think my steam ID is SM|SmashLampjaw _________________
certainly been a while... Just got back from Afghanistan just in time to play MW2 and L4D2
80% of my boys were gonna "boycott" the game but once we started playing we have had one hell of a time.
The matchmaking is kinda ghey but when we go en masse to a server we have a good time and when we want to scrim it works out fine. The netcode does give the host a slight advantage but nothing more than "being closer" to a server like it would with a normal dedicated.
the game is definitely fun... if yall wanna scrim or hop in the meefers we are on MW2 or L4D2 just about 24/7.... my steam name is ed1371
oh and zapp... we are heading up to OR in Jan for pdxlan15... there are still a few seats available! its a great time man...
